Zesty Breakfast Smoothie

This nutrient-filled breakfast smoothie is sure to help start your day off right! The ingredients in this smoothie are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, keeping you satisfied while boosting your immune system. And as if that wasn’t amazing enough, the cinnamon and ginger combined with the jalapeños give this smoothie some serious zest! Try adding additional hot peppers or a pinch of cayenne to spice it up another level.
Serves 1

1 banana, chopped (preferably frozen)
1 cup fresh spinach
1⁄2 jalapeño, seeded
1⁄2 apple (Fuji is great due to its crisp sweetness)
1⁄2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 cup coconut water
1 tablespoon almond butter
1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch ground ginger
Ice (optional)

  1. Add all ingredients (except for the ice) to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth and foamy.
  2. Serve on ice, if desired, in a large glass.
