Speedy Gonzales Chili

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped

1 tablespoon chili powder

1ВЅ pounds ground beef

One 28-ounce can diced tomatoes

1 medium red bell pepper, seeded, deribbed and chopped

ВЅ teaspoon onion powder

Вј teaspoon garlic powder

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sautГ© the onions until translucent, about 4 to 6 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle chili powder on the beef, add the beef to the onions, and cook it, breaking it up with a fork as it browns, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the tomatoes, peppers, onion powder and garlic powder and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
