YIELD: about 2 cups | PREP TIME: 5 minutes | COOK TIME: 10 to 12 minutes

• 3 tablespoons melted ghee or avocado oil
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
• ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1 Baguette , cut into ½-inch chunks

1. In a large bowl, mix together the melted ghee, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Add the chunks of bread and toss until well coated.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. When the skillet is hot, add the croutons. Toast in the pan for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring often, until browned on all sides.
3. Serve immediately. If you wish to make the croutons in advance, store them in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze for later. When you’re ready to serve the croutons, place them on a rimmed baking sheet and pop them in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes to crisp them up.
