Spicy Coconut Dipping Sauce – spicy coconut dipping sauce

Spicy coconut dipping sauce is creamy, peppery, and just fiery enough to keep you dipping. Almond butter and coconut yogurt give it body, while Sriracha brings the kind of heat that begs for one more bite. Serve it chilled with crudités, chicken, or shrimp and watch the bowl empty.

Spicy Coconut Dipping Sauce

This creamy, peppery dipping sauce is absolutely perfect when served atop crudités, chicken, shrimp, or as a drizzle over a medley of cooked vegetables on your dinner plate. The heat in this Spicy Coconut Dipping Sauce comes from the notoriously potent Sriracha pepper, which will leave you looking for something to soothe that fiery tongue! For a more savory spice, add some Dijon mustard, and if you’re looking for a thicker dipping sauce, just double the coconut yogurt and eliminate the coconut milk.
Yields 1 cup (240 ml)

1 cup (240 ml) almond butter
Juice of 1 lime
1⁄4 cup (960 ml) unsweetened coconut milk
1⁄4 cup (960 ml) unsweetened coconut yogurt
1⁄4 cup (960 ml) Sriracha sauce
1 teaspoon (5 ml) raw organic honey
Mix almond butter and lime juice in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk in coconut milk. Mix in coconut yogurt, Sriracha sauce, and honey until well blended. Serve chilled as a dipping sauce.

Pro Tips

  • For a thicker dip, double the coconut yogurt and leave out the coconut milk entirely — it stays perfectly spoonable straight from the fridge.
  • Almond butter firms up when chilled, so let the sauce sit out for 10 minutes before serving, or loosen it with a splash of coconut milk.
  • Swap the Sriracha for Dijon mustard if you want a gentler, more savory heat instead of that pepper burn.
  • It keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 5 days; stir well before serving since the nut butter tends to separate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does spicy coconut dipping sauce keep in the fridge?

Up to 5 days in a sealed jar. The almond butter may separate a little — just stir it back together before serving.

Can I use a different nut butter?

Cashew butter makes it milder and even creamier, while sunflower seed butter keeps it nut-free without changing the texture.

How spicy is this dipping sauce?

With 1/4 cup Sriracha it has genuine heat that builds. For a milder dip, start with 2 tablespoons and add more to taste.

What should I serve with it?

It's brilliant with crudités, chicken, shrimp, or drizzled over a plate of cooked vegetables as a creamy, spicy finish.
