KALE & BERRY SMOOTHIE

This is a great detox drink. Kale is the no. 1 superfood of the moment, and with good reason – it’s incredibly low in calories and yet amazingly rich in nutrients (especially the minerals many of us are deficient in) and if you simply eat more kale you will significantly improve the total nutrient content in your diet.

SERVES 2

50g kale leaves, destemmed

350ml freshly squeezed orange juice

200g strawberries, hulled

100g raspberries

1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz until smooth.

2. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

TIP

Smoothies taste best when they are freshest. The ingredients can separate and the texture can become thick or gelatinous if they’re left to sit and so I always recommend you drink them straight away.
