I like making my own Cajun seasoning, because sometimes the prepared kind is too spicy for my kids. Or it isn’t spicy enough for my husband and me. I like this version because it has a bit of heat, but not too much. And I have all of these seasonings in my cupboard, so it’s easy to whip up another batch when I run out.
Prep time 10 minutes
Makes about 1/2 cup (50 g)
2 tablespoons paprika
4 teaspoons onion powder
4 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons celery seed
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons sea salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Shake ingredients together in an airtight container. Store at room temperature.
