Candied Bacon

MAKES: 9 slices | PREP TIME: 5 minutes | COOK TIME: 30 to 35 minutes

Ingredients

2 tablespoons coconut sugar

¼ cup (60 ml) maple syrup

9 slices bacon

Process

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the coconut sugar and maple syrup. Lay the bacon flat on the prepared baking sheet. Use a pastry brush to brush the syrup mixture on top of the bacon. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the bacon is golden brown and slightly crispy.
  3. Allow the bacon to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a serving plate to cool completely.
