Chipotle Tomato Sauce
Try this southwestern take on the classic Italian tomato sauce on a Paleo pasta dish, or use it as a salsa on a southwestern dish of choice. The chipotle peppers and fresh cilantro create a super spiced-up sauce that is sure to make your eyes water!
Serves 6
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion, minced
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
3 chipotle peppers in adobo, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, minced
1⁄2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Place all the ingredients into a 4-quart slow cooker. Cook on low for 8–10 hours. Stir before serving.
